When I tell people that I am a home stager, I sometimes get questions about what home staging is?   My response is that home staging is basically preparing your home before listing it so that it is to presented in a way that will be appealing to the highest number of targeted buyers in that area, which will improve the chances of selling your home quickly and for the most value!  Better said:  Staging creates a measurable and marketable change in the perceived value of the home.

I do believe that more people are becoming familiar with home staging, and are utilizing consultations and showcasing services to assist with marketing and selling their homes.   I recently had a client ask me if my home was staged, to which I answered, “well, no, because I’m not trying to sell it right now;” however, this question reminded me that I tend to think as a stager when I’m making decorating decisions in my home.  I choose mostly neutral colors for my walls, and I’m always conscious of ensuring proper traffic flow, furniture placement, and enhancing the focal points in each room.   I think it’s because I enjoy my job as a home stager so much, which leads to my satisfaction when helping others!
