Fall is in the air, and will officially start later this week! It’s one of my favorite seasons, and I’m looking forward to the leaves changing color, making apple pies, and enjoying the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays.
In honor of fall, I thought I’d share a few tips for home staging during this enjoyable season:
- Since the days start getting shorter during the fall season, proper lighting is important if you want to highlight your home’s features. Be sure to keep blinds open during showings to let in as much natural light as possible, and place plenty of lamps throughout your home (in the “on” position during showings).
- As the temperatures start to drop, a warm atmosphere will be appealing to potential homebuyers. Suggest using pillows and plush throw blankets as accents for sofas and chairs.
- A fireplace should be the focal point of the room, so be sure that furniture placement and mantel accessories or artwork draw attention to the fireplace.
- Don’t forget how important curb appeal is to potential homebuyers – be sure to rake leaves, and take care of maintenance projects such as pressure-washing and gutter-cleaning.
I’m always happy to help homeowners prepare their homes for sale, so if you need some help this fall, please contact me via phone or email and I’ll be glad to schedule a home staging consultation!
